About Car Rental Price Index
We measure what car hire actually costs, airport by airport, and publish the middle of it. We do not sell hire cars and we are not an airport.
What this site is
A price index. We collect quotes from the same booking system every month, keep every batch, and publish the median for each airport, month, car class and lead time. That is the whole product: a number you can check a quote against, with the basis printed next to it.

What we are not
We are not an airport, we are not a rental company, and we are not affiliated with either. Nothing here is booked with us: the price check hands you to our booking partner, who quotes and takes the booking under their own terms.
How we make money
We earn a commission when a booking is made through our partner, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which prices we collect, what we publish, or the order companies appear in — those come from the archive, and the ordering rule is printed on the page.
What we will not claim
Every figure on this site is traceable to prices we collected, and any cell standing on fewer than 30 of them is shown as a dash with its count rather than as a price. We would rather say less than round something up.
