Car hire prices at St. Maarten Airport

For November 2026, use £62 a day as your benchmark at St. Maarten Airport for a Compact, such as a Nissan Versa, booked around a month before your trip. An Economy, such as a Chevrolet Spark, averages £47 a day, while an Intermediate, such as a Nissan Qashqai, averages £91. Do not wait until the last 2 weeks solely for a discount, because booking timing barely changes prices. Use the price checker to compare cars for your exact dates.

Booking timing barely matters at St. Maarten Airport: across the year, a Compact car averages £46 a day in the last 2 weeks, £6 less than around a month before your trip. Across that same period, booking a Compact car around 9 months before your trip averages £54 a day, so you have not missed a lower price by leaving it later. Across the 395 airports we track, 65% of our customers booked within a month of pickup, so you need not treat early booking as essential. With your dates fixed, compare suitable cars now rather than waiting solely for a price change.

Right Cars is the cheapest company at St. Maarten Airport for a Compact car over the last 12 months, averaging £34 a day, but you need a credit card for its deposit. Right Cars has an airport desk and typically holds £379, so check your available credit before choosing it. For a Compact car over the same 12 months, Zezgo averages £39 a day and Mex averages £50; both also have airport desks and require credit cards.

The cheapest company can cost you a longer queue or a bigger deposit, so check the review score and desk wait beside each car in the results before you book.

At St. Maarten Airport, do not choose Right Cars on price alone: its £34-a-day average for a Compact car over the last 12 months does not tell you how reliable pickup will be. Check recent customer reviews before booking, particularly comments about collection and deposit handling. You also need a credit card for Right Cars and enough available credit for its typical £379 deposit, so confirm those requirements before committing.

Review scores are CarTrawler customers' own, from the last five months; the score and the desk wait sit beside each car in the results.

At St. Maarten Airport, you need a credit card at all 4 checked desks, with deposits ranging from £379 at Right Cars to £757 at America, so a debit card will not work there. If you only have a debit card, filter for debit-card acceptance before comparing prices rather than choosing a car you cannot collect. Check the deposit and card rule beside each car, along with the prices of extras charged at the desk, such as child seats or additional drivers.

If you bring your own child seat, check your airline's rules first: most carry one free, some charge.

At St. Maarten Airport, watch out for credit-card-only deposits and the amount of credit they tie up, because all 4 checked desks reject debit cards. Bring a credit card that meets the car's stated requirements rather than relying on your debit card at collection. Check the hold before booking: Right Cars, Zezgo and Mex typically hold £379, while America holds £757.

Only 57% of prices at St. Maarten Airport are full tank out, full tank back, so read the fuel line under the car before you book.

For up to 5 people with cases, pick a Compact at St. Maarten Airport, the Nissan Versa or Nissan Kicks size at about £54 a day across the year. It seats 5 but takes 3 bags, so a full car means soft bags on laps. A couple can save a little with an Economy, a Chevrolet Spark, at £46 a day, though it takes 2 bags. 100% of hire cars at St. Maarten Airport are automatic, at £51 a day against £124 for a manual, so one is easy to find. No electric or hybrid cars are on offer at St. Maarten Airport.
