Car hire prices at Phuket Airport

For November 2026 at Phuket Airport, a good benchmark is £41 a day for an Intermediate, the Toyota Altis size, booked around a month before your trip. An Economy car, such as a Nissan Almera, averages £19 a day, while a Compact car, such as a Honda City, averages £35. Across the year, an Intermediate car averages £38 a day both around a month before pickup and in the last 2 weeks, so waiting offers no price advantage at those points. Use the price checker to compare your quote for your exact dates.

At Phuket Airport, booking around a month before or in the last 2 weeks barely changes the price: across the year, an Intermediate car averages £38 a day at either point. For November 2026, an Intermediate car averages £41 a day around a month before your trip. Across the year, booking an Intermediate car around 9 months before costs £52 a day on average, so you have not missed a cheaper early-booking price. Across the 395 airports we track car hire prices for, 65% of our customers book within a month of pickup, so that timing is common rather than unusually late.

Alamo is the cheapest company at Phuket Airport for an Intermediate car over the last 12 months, averaging £27 a day, but you need a credit card for its deposit. Alamo has an airport desk but does not yet have enough reviews for a score, so choose it only if you are comfortable without that reassurance. Drive Car Rental scores 99/100 from 46 reviews and averages £55 a day for an Intermediate car over the last 12 months, from 1,634 prices, which is £28 more a day.

The cheapest company can cost you a longer queue or a bigger deposit, so check the review score and desk wait beside each car in the results before you book.

Choose Drive Car Rental at Phuket Airport if reviews matter most to you: it is the best-reviewed company, scoring 99/100 from 46 reviews, with an average desk wait of 4 minutes. Choose between the lower price and the review reassurance rather than expecting both from the same company.

Review scores are CarTrawler customers' own, from the last five months; the score and the desk wait sit beside each car in the results.

At Phuket Airport, deposits range from £112 with Chic Car Rent to £449 with Drive Car Rental, and all 8 desks require a credit card, so you cannot rely on a debit card. If you only have a debit card, filter for debit-card acceptance before comparing prices rather than choosing a car you cannot collect. Check the deposit and card rule beside each car and make sure your credit card can cover the hold. Extras charged at the desk are listed under each car with their price.

If you bring your own child seat, check your airline's rules first: most carry one free, some charge.

At Phuket Airport, watch for credit-card-only deposits and differing desk waits, because a low rental price does not tell you how much card capacity or collection time you need. All 8 desks require a credit card; check the hold before booking, as Alamo holds £112 while Drive Car Rental holds £449. Allow for an average desk wait of 16 minutes with Asap Rent a Car, compared with 4 minutes at Drive Car Rental, if you have an appointment after landing.

Only 80% of prices at Phuket Airport are full tank out, full tank back, so read the fuel line under the car before you book.

Choose a Compact car, such as a Honda City, at Phuket Airport if 3 bags cover your group: it averages £35 a day in November 2026 and seats 5. The Compact car takes fewer bags than passengers, so check luggage before stepping down to an Economy car such as a Nissan Almera, which seats 5 but takes only 2 bags at £19 a day in November 2026. If you need 4 bags, an Intermediate car such as a Toyota Altis seats 5 and averages £41 a day in November 2026. 96% of cars offered over the last 12 months are automatic, so selecting automatic should leave you plenty of choice. Electric cars account for 11% of cars offered and hybrids for 19% over the same period, so filter for your preferred powertrain rather than assuming either is standard.
